Erik has been a busy man lately and has taken some time out to be interviewed on Battle-Fields.com. The interview initially discusses Steam 2.0 with some technical details regarding steam for those new to it. Towards the end is where the juicy bits come in. We all know about the new weapons, FAMAS, Galil and of course the riot shield. But did you know this:Can you elaborate on the shield in particular? How effective do you think it will be beyond the first round given its inability to fully stop rifle fire? It's an interesting interview and contains a few other bits of info. Definitely worth spending sometime on. To read the full thing click here.In the current implementation, it will fully stop rifle fire.

also, shield = primary weapon, so all they have is a crappy pistol, could be good for eco rounds later on in the game tho? [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

if u read about it b4 posting then you would realise that when you buy the shield it takes up ur primary weapon slot, i.e. u cant have a colt or an AWP or a mp5 or anything, and you have to use the FN57 aswell. And to shoot back you move the shield to the side, so its not as bad as you make it out to be [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

although i think it should stop all main rifle fire, will it completely stop awp? coz i still think it should be -60% dmg from an awp shot or summin but block everything else, coz lets face it if awp does no damage whatsoever the guy with the shield has a MASSIVE advantage over the sniper, run out with shield sniper shoots and has ages till the next shot time for u to pop out ur pea shooter and own him unless he's right next to a wall to cover behind or ur slow pulling pistol out and the sniper changes first & has a more powerful pistol.
anyone with a rifle and half a brain should find a way to kill a shield user easily but its just the snipers that should worry imo [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

Apart from the fact that he's obviously gonna fail his English 11-plus exam, he seems to take great delight in insulting others. Of course he'll have to reply, even though he doesn't care what I say, so that he can insult someone again :) Good on you Iron ... you keep up the good swearing and insulting ... wtg :) [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]
