The Manchester LAN gaming centre Unicon this morning announced its new Counter-Strike team, none other than the reformed Euthanasia side.
Here's the statement from the official website:
It was a difficult choice as we received applications from a number of high profile clans, but with a good combination of off-line and on-line acheivements, the new squad's close proximity to the UniCon Centre, and their determination to win, we believe we made the right decision.
We welcome ex-cheers! and ex-euth clan members as the new UniCon.cs team! Both teams have a strong link with the UniCon Centre, having attended many of our tournaments in the past, playing and beating some very established clans in the process - also outperforming the previous UniCon squad on a number of occasions.
Despite being one of the youngest teams in the professional scene, they have shown a great deal of talent and we hope that with this opportunity they can develop into a formidable force in the professional Counter-Strike community.

The reason for LANimals was to bring together a g00d group of players who could LAN regularly at uC. With all these players been g00d at cs and not socially challenged i thought this would be a good team to represent unicon.' We are gamers but not social rejects ;-0'
However after finishing teaching my night class last wed i came back to find the LANimals team dropped and myself banned from the channel. With this quote 'UniCon.CS folds at last. Recruiting new CS squad' and 'Due to a certain Clan Leader taking it upon themselves to form a new team under a different name' in front of my eyes. I didnt moan about it however and thought i wouldnt rise to rays digs. I felt ultimately let down by UniCoN at this point considering all the effort i put into the We Got Rhythm series, if i had been consulted regarding bringing in a new cs team i wouldnt of minded in the slightest. As us uCOI boyz are not exactly the most active players ever and do have alot of real life commitments and pass times ;-0.
However the way that this situation was handled by the UniCoN guys with no communication at all and with all the parting digs...'also outperforming the previous UniCon squad on a number of occasions' being the one Heady just pointed out as well as the previous mentioned; has made me post this comment to express my disappointment in the UniCoN centre. If they will do this to myself, who has supported them as much as possible during there administration of the centre with the WGR's etc, how can they be trusted? This approach shown towards myself and the uC team during this last week shows there lack of respect and untrustworthy behaviour to the fullest. And they have indeed lost a number of friends in the gaming community through this.
The immature and back handed behaviour shown during this period is really disappointing, and this wil also reflect the way they run there business; not very suprising then that the Centre is flayling and is only scraping by and so has been for the last few months.
If Ray will treat a close collegue such as myself like this, then how does he treat the customers of the Centre? If it werent for the God that is Kal; who puts up with rays obnoxiousness and his social skills (or lack of); and treats customer with the respect they deserve, the centre would of gone under months ago.
Ray here's a bit of advice...advice from a person who has won Young Entrepeneur of the Year for the UK for 2 yrs on the trot at 18yrs Old AND made 85k in his first year of business... Sort your attitude with people and you aren't and will never be better than the people around you. Until you realise that people are the most important thing in your line of work, you will fail. ;--------0

No we didnt ever bootcamp :D and u described us very well there my friend. TBH there was always teams that were better suited to the uC.cs team. But at least speak 2 us about it. Dont just ban the CL and announce it! We enjoyed our time with UniCoN and until we actually put some effort into praccy and bootcamp we will always under achieve ;-0 [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]
