UKT 5 Extra Info

A few news updates and reminders about UKT 5 this weekend:

Firstly Legend and Zebras have dropped out from the professional tournament and so if there are any good teams out there that still want to come and compete then please get in touch with me as soon as possible. Failing that if any team would be willing to compete in the professional tournament on the Sunday then also contact me.

Secondly, many teams and players have been asking me about starting times, finishing times and prices. This competition is £15 per player and £5 for spectators/any 6th player a team brings.

For the Saturday SFAL, Void. Digital Real1ty, Total-Gamer, ReSonance, Monkeys in Pyjamas, REal1ty and OnlineSports must be at the IT-Centre by 9:00am. If you arrive later than that you will have less time to setup. The rest of the amateur teams (qTp, SA, MeatyBalls, DH, Bleeding-Edge, Pro-Gamer and enigma) must be at the IT-Centre by 12:00 noon.

On the Sunday all teams must be at the IT-Centre by 9:00am to setup, or 9:30am at the latest. If there are any problems with this then contact me asap. The two amateur teams who qualify on the Saturday will not be charged again to compete on Sunday. The competition should end by 10:00pm both days, but sometimes these events overrun, so please bear that in mind.

Finally, good luck to all teams competing, hopefully everyone will find it an enjoyable event and will appreciate the social nature of a LAN gaming environment.

Update: OnlineSports have dropped out from the Amateur League, any team who wants their place please contact me asap.

Everytime you pm'ed me about the waiting list there wasn't a spot for you, i can't kick another team out to make room for you. Now there is a spot, you guys can't make it.

20:55 2/10/2003		 We dropped out because we didn't want to turn up in the same state as we did for WCG without any preparation and get beaten again. Everyone in the team felt it was a mutual decision because we all thought it would just be a waste of a journey for us. We've played 2 PCWs since WCG.

Instead of trying to get tactics and teamplay sorted in 4-5 days for anything between 4 and 6 maps we've decided we'd rather spend time getting the current lineup strong on all maps through PCWs and playing in the BWCSL so that we can go to a LAN feeling like we can do ourselves justice. Then again I'm sure that everyone will be making snide comments etc about it so I really don't care. Not like UKT will be short of teams coming forward. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]
