The UK/IE CS Cup, one of the biggest and highly anticipated online CS competitions in the United Kingdom and Ireland, started its season with 136 accepted British and Irish CS teams. After three rounds of qualifiers this ammount was reduced to 40, and the Groupstage is ready to start its first out of five weeks.

More than a week after the draw of the eight groups, in which the teams were given the chance to prepare, the Groupstage finally starts today.

The matches in the groupstage will be played on two maps per match, using the MR12 system, which means a team needs 25 rounds to secure a win (2 rating points), allthough a draw (1 point) is also allowed. The maps in the first week are de_dust2 and de_clan1_mill.

Update:
Two teams have folded/went inactive in the past week, withdrawN! (Group C) and voLatile (Group H). voLatile was replaced by twisted Reality.
After long and hard deliberation with cup admins and respected figures in the cs community i have come to the decision to allow c4urself! a second bash at participating in the UK/IE league. With their recent performances at lan along with their improved attitude towards the game and the players that partake it it seems the logical choice to put forward as a replacement for withdrawN!, as a second chance I wish them luck, and am confident they wont dissapoint us.

they all replaced clans either berthed into the 3rd qualified round or the groupstage so hadn't played any matches, i.e they hadn't beaten anyone to take their place

then you have:

sw fold - replaced by contact who they beat in the 2nd quals round

efu are kicked - replaced by ee who they beat in the 3rd quals round (i know they've been reinstated now but the point still stands)

volatile fold - replaced by tR who they beat in the 3rd round of quals

Ok lads, lesson learnt. Cheat and exploit for months, put in two decent lan performances and you'll be allowed back into each and every CB competition you were banned from for cheating!

That's just a laughable decision. They may be improving, but if only for the sake of consistency they should not have been allowed back in until the next tournament.

c4u wasnt banned for cheating DoZ, as the use of the smokebug exploit (in last season's semi final) wasnt regarded a bannable offense, yet a offense being sanctioned by a forfeit loss (if it was classed the worst type of cheating (wh/aimbot/etc) it would have been a global CB ban, which also is active for the OC and CSC.
The reason why they werent let in in the first place was their abusive behaviour/attitude and their instability, something they both have seemed to improve on enough to be given this second chance, alltho under supervision. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

And yet two byoc lans later they're completely reformed? It'd be logical to use exactly the same rules for replacing clans as liq showed, and give them their final chance next cup. Have to say i agree with Liq's point of view. It shows a real lack of consistency, i'd be p***ed of if it were my clan seen as other clans in the same position have been re-instated when other clans folded.
