Craig "Torbull" Levine the manager of Team 3D has been interviewed by SoGamed after 3D's win at WCG. Some of you may think that managers are pretty useless and are just glorified war-arrangers. However to bring up a point made by Sarge a few days ago: 3D have Torbull, SK have bds, both have huge giant sponsors and great organisation. EYE-Ballers who are definately one of the top teams in the world have jack (and i don't mean Jack the manager).
Moving on, the interview is done very well and provides an interesting read. Torbull is a very smart person and it shows. The head of 3D and ESEA gives an insight into his life and the US CS scene. Here's a snippet:
How do you feel the scene has developed over the last 2 years?Gaming has grown so much over the past two years. We have seen more and more companies get involved with sponsoring teams and events, pro gaming has gotten a ton of mainstream press, and the events are getting larger and larger each time. However, as much progress as we have made in the past two years, there is still soooo much more to go. We need to get more lifestyle companies involved (such as Subway) and need to get more press coverage that doesn't emphasize how unique pro gaming is, but rather focuses on reporting on the events and matches and profiling the players.
