After some hard fought matches earlier today in Unicon's final LAN event, Nocturne announced their return to the UK scene in some style. Progressing through the upper bracket without defeat, Nocturne would face fellow favourites MonkeyMagic, who they'd earlier knocked into the lower bracket final, in the grand final. The match was played on de_cpl_mill, with Nocturne clinching it, 13-11, and capping a fine performance for the day. Full credit to MonkeyMagic for pushing them close, however, no doubt establishing themselves as the second strongest team on the day. The final standings were as follows:

1^st - Nocturne
2^nd - MonkeyMagic
3^rd - Xtra
4^th - UniCon
5^th-6^th - G2XS & 2S2P
7^th-8^th - Forsaken & Proficient

Well played to all clans involved, with the obvious congratulations in order for Nocturne. As most of you will have been aware, this event signalled the end of Unicon Gaming, sadly. I'll leave the final words to their main man, Vinny:

ok seriously now, without mike or kae peering over my horrid comments with there beady eyes...

Obz, even without duck, we could have used several people, we chose duck cos he's a good friend and asked to play. Simple.

He owned the final, but fact is nuke is our best map, and if we had have lost mill, which we expected, we were pretty confident going into nuke, as we were with inferno.

We all played ok i guess, a good start for our new team, and a VERY well run event, not a single problem.

wp to everyone who went. It was a good event and the UniCon guys ran it well (something they have done regular by all accounts). Again a big wp to everyone especially Nocturne (AnNuM proved some people wrong I hope), MM and Xtra for getting 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

Ok, Ok Katori, I get your point ;/. Was actually a bit of a laugh doing the shoutcast, was helping UniCon out by providing irc scorebots and HLTV proxies for coverage to the outside, so I thought, why not try to set up a shoutcast using one of CB's shoutcast servers.
Ok, I wont do that again, as obviously noone wants to listen to dodgy dutchies commentating on a UK match in Manchester ;D

Well, what can I say? hehe. Another won LAN under my belt.

I've got sooo many things to say so i'll start with our team;

Mike is a dude.
Kyle is funny as foook.
Dave is tiny. :P
Paul is fat.

BIG thanks to UniCon, great event not many problems and if there was, they were solved.
Loxam worked really hard, he looked so fu*ked after it had all finished. Vinny is a //inner!!!! Thanks UniCon <3 you!

gg to g2xs, there a decent side

gg to xtra, the smallest clan EVER, who we should have never gone to overtime against. Some sneaky bast*rd defused the bomb while I was knifing kyle, haha.

gg mm, there a good side and seem like nice lads. When toomy speaks, hes so hard to understand! I never thought we could win Mill, I was kind of hoping to take it to our second map (whatever it was) and win it then.

I met DK for the first time ever too, hes absoloutly WELL sound, proper chatty and says 'fu*cking' quite alot! haha he even offered to give me a lift home, proper nice guy!

I'm wearing the headphones I won now but I aint got them plugged in, haha.

It was an eco, all of g2xs were dead apart from callisto, he had a defuse kit and was top of ladder on nuke, one of unicon players shouted 'lets get out its going to go'.

Its also nice that people like DK take the time to come down and spectate (among others such as akujii (thx for the laptop use!) and WaZ).

Makes it much more of a community LAN when they do.

Shoutout to Zorro for the HLTV redirect/etc. much appreciated with our already raped bandwidth in-house :)

I did say annum was thicking in real life, he probably hasnt worked out how to plug them headphones in yet!!

Hope he hasnt took the others out yet, or he'll be playing with no sound. Probably explain the reason he hacked years ago (got new headphones and didnt know how to plug em in, before removing old ones!).

That said, LAN was well run, some very good games, all were close. Even the 2s2p vs prof game was a decent game apart from the 1 f***ed PC that kept dying for 2s2p :/

Highlights of the LAN:

having to walk 'only 5 minutes' according to protex for some KFC and walking for about 30 mins in the freezinf cold!!.

not being able to tell if the girls in manchester were actually going out for a Saturday night or wether they was touting for 'business'.

Having a bevvy with noc/xtra/mm after he LAN.

'winning' a set of sennheisser 130's :D

almost having my car trapped in the 24hr parking, cos the booth was unmanned. Walked around looking how to f***ing pay my measly £2 for 15 minutes. Then noticed 1 of the barries was just a plastic pole held on by zip ties! Ragged it up and got in my car to go home. Only for Steve Austin the 6 million dollar security gaurd to appear from f***ing nowhere going on like I was trying to steal some1s f***ing porsche and get away w/o paying my £1000 pound parking fee. Threatened me with the police and to pay £25 pound for the damaged barrier?!?!

He got £2 and a warm 'have a good night'!

striken was the difference on the day between uc and 2s2p, v wp 2 him. but we made some god awful mistakes!

enjoyed the lan loads and i made the mistake of wearing 1 of forsaken's cursed bandana's vs pro :(
