I have heard from various different sources that CS has been taken off the games list at CXG. Here is a quote that has been floating around which can be found on gamers.nu.
Arbee just now phoned me from CXG and asked me to make this update since they have no internet access there. Counter-Strike has been removed from the CXG event. The reasons why are unknown but Arbee mentioned the organizers talking about suing VALVE for some reason. It's apparently very chaotic there right now and the decision was just now announced at a big meeting between the organizers and the major teams. More information will follow later.
Suing Valve? This could be very interesting indeed, as all the clans and sponsors will have forked out lots of money. At the moment this is just a rumour and possibly someone playing a prank, stay tuned here for more information as it happens!

a) it was the result of a ddos attack which is near impossible to prevent
b) they reinstalled their WHOLE network it says on the news post below this, wtf does that have to do with valve?
c) ties in with b, but basically i think their network is probably s***, as well as their inet connection
d) they could have used 1.5 if they felt there could have been problems with inet access

Apparently the pro area of CS was hacked earlier as well causing the delays today (on top of the DDoS attack)

According to Element, all the captains has a meeting with the CXG people. Some suggested that the tournament was made a single elimination, but the majority of the captains declined that.
