Lanwarfare Closes Its Doors

Posted by NoToRiOuS at 01:50 10/10/2002.

Well it looks like tonight is full of bad news. First CS Pickup, then my buddy Deean and now Lanwarfare are going to shut down. It is a real shame to see them disappear from the CS community and I'm sure the 3 above wont be forgotten any time soon.

Here's a snippet of the official press release:
Lanwarfare regret to anounce that we will cease trading from the 15th of October 2002. The LAN Party scheduled for the 25th and 26th October will be CANCELLED and we will not be running any further LAN Parties. Everyone that has signed up for the next LAN Party will be emailed shortly.

...

Once again, to all those that turned up to our LAN's, thank you very much. And to all those that didn't bother to even send a cancellation email… then a lot of the blame for this is down to you. Perhaps you can explain to the rest of the gamers why you couldn't be bothered, because we can't work it out.

So, good luck and have fun… that's an order!

hmmz it would have been nice to have seemed a bit more compassionate tissue, instead of sounding like a complete pr1ck. It sucks that these guys business has gone under and ur indifference is typical of the cs community today. That why decent peeps are all f***ing off i didnt know these guys but gl anyways. best thing to do is make LANs for 50 odd ppl and slowly build when the profit you get to buy more networkin equipement, it can work well.

But as you say they tried to go too big to quick!

its a shame to see all these things splittin :/ [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

Running a LAN on the 25th, half a month before i14 seems a little silly, since most people will probably choose between the two.

Anyway, ul and gl etc. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

It's a shame another LAN centre cannot afford to keep going.

I sometimes wonder how any of them keep going with huge outlays and bit a pittence coming in. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]
