Landed Lan have opened the signups for the seventh installment of the LAN saga, this time hosting the United Kingdom Cyberathlete Profestional League Summer 2004 Qualifiers.
Each of the events (BYOC and CPL) will cost £20 each, payment is required through Landed for the BYOC and Game Frontier for the CPL Qualifiers. The BYOC takes place between 25th - 27th June 2004, with the tournament being held on the Saturday (26th) and Sunday (27th). Due to the CPL Qualifiers only fun tournaments will be run, expect plenty of quick cups taking place all weekend, allowing teams in the CPL who are also at the BYOC to practice as well. There are 100 BYOC places going fast so if you wish to attend, signup here.
The CPL Qualifiers are being run by Game Frontier who run the ESWC Qualifiers, the signup for this tournament will be going live shortly and will be available on the Game Frontier website, so keep checking back periodically.

The Landed BYOC area will not be holding any official tournaments, however there will be various cups, tourneys and comps running throughout the event.
Landed currently have no plans to host a WCG qualifier. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

And you, can't, i repeat, can't get parental consent to go:
"The Cyberathlete Professional League (CPL) supports the ESRB industry rating system for video games and the voluntary enforcement of this rating system. Counter-Strike™ has an ESRB rating of "M", which is suitable for ages 17 and up. In accordance with this rating, all participants must be a minimum of 17 years of age at the opening of the event in order to register and compete in the $100,000 Counter-Strike Tournament. Minors under the age of 17 may not compete in the Tournament." [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

Im hoping (and guessing) that gamefrontier will allow a few of us and them to decide. We'll look at current and recent performances as well as history of those players involved (ie: think of clan WOLF's case before ESWC..)
Overall the aim is to get the best 16 teams from both UK and europe at the event. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

15:03 17/6/2004 It's kind of hard for them to do it after exams, as the CPL event itself is in July.

not only could I not get back to this news post straight away, it didn't tell me I was logged out until after I'd written my comment and tried to add it. AND when I got my password wrong, it told me my email address was invalid. Silly thing. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]
