I failed miserably at Bits and Bobs, so I withdraw gracefully from its presence to create this seedy little den of news for myself. So here we go:

The Clanbase UK/IE Cup posted a poll to gauge the entrant's feelings regarding the use of the new riot shield in 1.6. The Cups organiser, Zorro, doesn't seem too keen on its inclusion.
"My proposal is to forbid the use of the Riot shield in Cupmatches, as I want to keep Cup a CS cup as CS used to be. For example by penalizing clans for each round the shield is used."
CSGN have posted a teeny weeny interview with Iccy from ONE, who is in fact teeny weeny himself. The interview tries to sort out ONE's new lineup, of which we now have a vague idea, but Iccy keeps schtum. You can read it here.
AndersSchm, head-admin of the much touted BWCSL, has followed suit with Clanbase and clamped down on the shield for the upcoming BWCSL league, now in its 8th and largest season. AndersSchm has gone one step further than Clanbase however and has also excluded the new 1.6 de_cbble.
"Also well documented are the problems with the 1.6 version of de_cbble. This map has been removed from the map rotation as a result."
Cyber-X-Gaming have announced yet another cash prize tournament. This time its done in a BYOC-stylee, with over $100,000 up for grabs in various shapes and sizes its a lot of prizes to stake on a BYOC style tournament.
A bit of Eurocup news now, with the groups being announced for the next stage and also a review of the upcoming event by mTw. The groups look like this:
Group A: TeG, 4k, DkS, FG, m, mTw, nEph, ocr
Group B: alMSI, e2sat, I-eS, MurK, omg!, ProPa, qx, zG
Group C: i, A, DSkyl, emax, esu, GK, Havan, iZ
Group D: 23ksi, forZe, Front, LQi, Magic, Titan, Why!, avata

I'm already thinking of fantastic headlines for when all 3 of our teams romp over johnny-foreigner.
