Infinity Gaming 2: Final Standings

After a long weekend of LAN action down in Bath, IG2 came to a close in the early hours of Monday morning.  After numerous problems ranging from PC's being a pain, clans getting disqualified and monitors under threat of vandalism, alltherage managed to take home the top prize after a convincing performance in the final against Virtuoso.  The final standings are as follows:

• 1st. alltherage
• 2nd. virtuoso
• 3rd. XSTARS
• 4th. Highfive
• 5th/6th. Choke/Engine on Mute
• 7th/8th. Synergy/Progazmo
• 9th-12th. Wink/coax/pulse/ImG

The rest finished below 12th, obviously.  XSTARS had looked quite solid throughout the tournament, but they found virtuoso too strong in the pen-ultimate match of the tournament.  Highfive also had a fairly decent weekend, but couldn't compete when it came to their matches against atr and XSTARS.  Virtuoso played extremely well, but after losing to alltherage in the upper bracket final they were unable to do any better in the grand final.

The prize distribution was as follows:

• alltherage (ShaQ, AdY, Kardy, LozZA, ZaG) - 5 x Sound Blaster X-Fi Fatal1ty
• virtuoso (mh, jeNuwiN, Rain, NicholaisoN, RazeH) - 5x Steelsound 5H Headphones
• XSTARS (trix, weZ, wilzOOO, KritikaL, Si) - 5 x Steelpad S&S

alltherage also took home £550 for their trouble.  Despite the heavy delays and PC problems it turned out to be a fairly successful tournament and hopefully the IG admins will build on this for their next event.
