HL2 GFX Benchmarks + Drivers

Those nice boffins at the XBit labs have released some graphics card benchmarks based on Half-Life 2. As expected ATI (who endorse HL2) have a nice performance margin on their arch enemy (Nvidia). At this moment in time these results may need to be taken with a pinch of salt as they were produced in-house by ATI. More results will be posted when benchmarks are available.

Update: After trawling the web I managed to find some optimised ATI graphics card drivers for HL2 and CS:S. They are meant to give an extra FPS boost of 5-20% and are based on the latest 4.12 beta drivers. For more information head over to Tech Connect's website.

	Weebull 08:34 17/11/2004	Grand? you can do it for about £300-400 if you've got a decent monitor/speakers/PSU/mouse/keyboard to back it up with. All you really need to buy is motherboard, processor, RAM and a GFX card. Unless you're insistent on buying the latest, over-priced pieces immediately. As far as I see it though, if I can run Doom3 and HL2 well enough, that should cover me for the next year or two, when most FPS's will be almost all based on one of those two engines, and all the mods come out for both of them.
