Harriman Returns Home

Most people have known for a few days now that Stu Harriman of Four-Kings Intel had returned home from the World eSports Games in South-Korea. The rumour came as a surprise to many following 4K's outstanding performance throughout the event, and just a day after they defeated GamerCo to advance to the finals of the competition in two weeks. Today a statement was posted on the Four-Kings Intel website regarding the situation.

Recently the rumour mill has been flowing with the news that Harriman will not be playing in the WEG finals. It is with great regret that we can confirm these rumours to be true. During his stay in Korea, Harriman found it very hard to adjust to the lifestyle imposed on him and was becoming desperatly unhappy there. Indeed it is very unfortunate timing, but all is not lost. Stuarts replacement will be flying to Korea in the coming days, and will have just over two weeks to adjust and practice with the team.

Fortunatly, the replacement is a long time friend of 4Kings and will not find it hard to fit into the team. The adjustment process should flow very smoothly, and all being well, work to the timescale provided. We are pleased to say Mattias 'Snajdan' Andersen will be making his one game comeback against NoA. We would like to thank Snajdan for his willingness to support his old friends one last time.

Indeed it is not the position we would like to have been put in going into the teams first major finals, lets cross our fingers and hope the team can make the best of the time they have, and pull something special out of their hats.

We would like to make it quite clear, Harriman is not leaving the team and will return to action as soon as WEG is over. Also, Snajdan will not be leaving D-Sky, he is being brought in for the finals, and will return to his active duties there upon arrival home.

So a shame, yes, but not a trajedy. Snajdan spent several months playing for 4K last year and was a member of the lineup that achieved a top 8 finish at the CPL Winter 2003 competition. Hopefully the team now consisting of Mangiacapra, Akujii, Red`, Goodfella and Snajdan can still overcome NoA to win the event.

Obviously if Harriman is going home before a FINALS match, he's doing so for a good reason

If he was just slightly uncomfortable or didnt particularly enjoy the food, he would have probably toughed it out and stayed

Since he left Korea and went home, we know that he almost certainly was not able to stay

His teammates would be the ones raging if he left for no good reason, but does that look like what's going on? No, they seem to stand behind his decision.

So yeah, that sucks for 4K and they are at a big disadvantage since they have to change their lineup, but I'm sure it was the only play available to them and I'm sure they'll make the most of it

I mean, if he left for no reason other than 'he was uncomfortable' then im afraid then yet again the 'UK CS pro-gaming scene' (i still find the whole concept laughable) has taken a slap in the face as one of the supposed pros has not acted in a way that reflects his (LAWL) status.
