GlobalGaming Arena - ACON 5 Pre-Qualifier

Tomorrow the Birmingham GlobalGaming Arena ACON 5 CS qualifier takes place with eight teams in attendance. Each team will be hoping for a top three qualifying finish to GameOn #60 later this month.

GlobalGaming Arena would like to advice all teams to bring their own headsets. The qualifying competition will take place with the eight teams seperated into two groups of four, the top two of each group advancing through to the single elimination semi-finals. A 3rd/4th place playoff will be used to determine the final qualification spot.

Final placings at each of the qualifying event will be used for the seedings of the ACON5 UK CS Finals.

The groups for the GGA qualifier are shown below. Please note that teams in the later group need not be present until 1:00pm.

Group 1 - 9:30am    Group 2 - 1:30pm

19:35 8/4/2005		 agree with geo, was the same at GGL. A lot of competitions seem to be using random grouping now, which can only be a bad thing in my eyes.
I appreciate it would be hard to seed a lot of the teams attending events like this though its not like they are even necessary, if they did 3 poules system like they did at ESWC - I think they had 'Higher Tier' 'Mid Tier' and 'Lower Tier' teams, and put 1 or 2 of each into a group, at least you'd get some vaigly fair groupings that way.
