New server provider - Frag Arena

Frag Arena is the UK's newest professional game service provider. They offer high performance, affordable game servers (CS, Q3, RTCW, UT2K3) for clans and individuals, backed up with friendly customer support. Following some price cuts this weekend, the typical price for a 16 man, public, CS server with anti-cheat is now £55.49 a month.

The servers which are hosted in Telehouse London have a minimum spec of dual 2Ghz CPUs, 2GBs ECC DDR, 10,000 RPM SCSI HDDs, 3com NICs and are running Linux. For more information on the services and their public server list, visit their website.

	_rob 09:28 19/3/2003	Who is the best server provider at the moment? all depends on your connection and your area and how many hops to the server. even tho i am on nilly, jolt servers ping really poorly for me (30-40), where as mncops (the ones used in UKT gathers) i ping between 5-20. mncops are hosted up north i think, i am in norfolk. 	omg! craig Online Multiplayer Gaming 12:18 19/3/2003	4u have awful reg, they may ping well but when nothing hits it doesnt matter how good your ping is. its better to have a higher stable ping than really low ping and 0 reg. 4k servers are the best atm, last week or so havent been the best but they are changing over to linux which should hopefully make them more stable than they have been last few days. But without a doubt they are the best around for reg and general consistency. We are of course biased, but thats why we are happy to use 4k cos they are the best. I know the frag arena guys tho and im sure that they wont overload there servers in the future once they become more popular. I would choose them over 4u/jolt & choosehosting without doubt. Played on www.fpsclanservers.net last nite, and it was great. But its amazing how s*** the uk servers are. I can go on almost any danish server and its amazing, ping and reg wise.
