In some rather baffling news, or the beginning of a mini-cs rules revolution, the Esports World Cup Committee have decided to change the finals event in France from the 8th - 13th July to maxrounds 15. Here's the statement
The ES World Cup rules committee decided today to use maxround 15 (MR15) for the final event in France the 8-13 july.Source: Electronic Sports World CupThis decision is only valid for the final event. The qualifier tournaments will stay in maxrounds 12. The various tournament rules will be available in a few days.

i dont think as many people would watch a football match if it was only 45mins long.
however, if its a really boring game then it will turn spectators off the idea [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

Not quite, lots of the public schools had their own seperate rules and even basic things such as size of pitch, dimensions of ball, whether you could catch the ball or not were different between organisations (three major ones Uppington, Cambridge/public schools, Sheffield and the FA). The most important rules were those of Sheffield (the first football club), who borrowed from all rules and laid down their own.
They merged with the Football Association and created "Association Football" which is the same football played all around the world, and is due very little to Cambridge's involvement. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]
