Ericsson/SK Article - Games Give Fame

Thanks to ShackES for the heads up. Angel Munoz posted a link in the CPL forums to an article he noticed on the Ericsson website (Mobile phone anyone?).

The article, entitled 'Games Give Fame', focuses on Counter-Strike and, more specifically, Schroet Kommando.Sca who won the CPL summer event this year. It's quite a short article, but it features a lot of quotes from SK's coach, Andreas Thorstensson aka bds:

" 'We have a sponsorship agreement with Intel Europe and a company called QSC. They take care of all our travel expenses and supply us with hardware. The win in Dallas gave us US$25 000. Our sponsors get 10-15% and the rest is divided between team members'.

Recently the team members started to receive a monthly salary.
'Competition is getting tougher, which demands that the clan concentrates fully on training. My goal is that the team should be able to play Counter-strike full time. It looks like we soon will accomplish that.' "

Interesting to see Ericsson reporting on online gaming considering they're best known for their mobile devices. I suppose mobile systems are headed that way too.
