The guys over on Planet Half-Life have posted their first impressions of CS:CZ, after they received a copy yesterday from Vivendi Universal. Here's a snip:
"CS: CZ seems pretty technically solid. It looks about as good as you could expect a Half-Life engine game to be, the presentation is slick, and the bots play CS like... well... people online, pretty much. There are three main gameplay modes: online (which is essentially CS 1.6 through Steam with different maps), deleted scenes, and campaign. Campaign mode is the main attraction, and it consists of playing CS with and against bots, winning rounds and completing objectives.
I was more interested in the deleted scenes, which contains some of the more traditional single-player levels from Ritual's version of CS: CZ.[...]To be honest, what I played seemed rather mediocre and clichéd, but there are some interesting touches like nutzoids that try to hack your head off.
We'll probably have some sort of more in-depth preview later, but based on what I've seen so far, I think those of you that mainly want to play\practice CS with bots will be pleased with what CS: CZ has to offer.
So there you have it...hearing the decidely uninspiring first impressions adds to my confusion over the long delays this game had. They've also uploaded a few screenshots showing a few of the new gadgets and a couple of map shots.

1)I doubt they play like ppl online unless by that they meant Jolt or uk2 servers, where if u can aim even slightly, and ur not deaf ur gonna dominate them.
2)I wont buy it, i might download it to test out these ub3r 1337 bots... or then again... i prolly wont.
3) Half-Life 2 will follow its name and prolly have half the life of the first game. Other game engines are looking much more appealing [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

if so why pay money for a game to play with bots and some average new gun and player skins when u can download the patch for free and play online against humans which is better??

To be fair the bots are meant to be pretty good, though. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

Unfortunately for you mate, there are other things going on within the community, other than qtp splitting up and tR reforming (not that there's anything wrong with those either). To not post these things, just because they don't apply to the little uk scene you live in, would just be plain wrong. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

I'm not going to buy CS:CZ, I already paid 24.99 in 1998 for my copy of Half-life, thank you very much. Will be downloading it warez though. Would pay for it if I expected it to be worth the money, but I don't [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]
