CPL World Tour UK

Gamefrontier have today announced details regarding the UK leg of the CPL World Tour. Although the primary focus will be upon the $50,000 (£28,250) PainKiller tournament, the UK leg of the world tour will also host a $10,000 (£5,650) CS 1.6 event and a $8,000 (£4,520) female only CS 1.6 tournament.

The UK stop will be held from the 2nd - 4th September at the Magna Science Adventure Centre in Sheffield. Gamefrontier released a few more details in the following statement:

As well as the official tournaments, Game Frontier will also be hosting a Bring Your Own Computer (BYOC) LAN party at Magna Science Adventure Centre. Game Frontier will arrange approx 300 BYOC places, which will be open 24 hours from Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th September. Other BYOC details:
Over $4000 prize fund for BYOC competitions and tournaments
Free sleeping area for the first 150 registered attendees.
A special Warcraft III Tournament
Plus various other tournaments to be announced.
High speed internet access for all.
There will also be an exhibition area with various booths and stands from sponsors and partners, who also will be showcasing the latest technologies and products. Expect giveaways, fun games and activities.
The whole event will be broadcast live via the internet on a special live streaming show provided by Team Sportscast Network. They will provide live coverage of the tournaments and competitions providing, up-to-date information on results, game play, and live event news every day during the whole weekend. A special dedicated UK CPL world Tour website with registration details will be released over the next few days. With the recent cancellation of the CPL Germany WT tour, also organised by Gamefrontier, they will be under considerable pressure to ensure things go smoothly this time.
