CPL Brazil WT - Signing off

All 31 games to determine the final standings of the 16 teams competing in the CPL World Tour have now been completed. Despite an impressive comeback SSV-Lehnitz were unable to overturn Made in Brazil's first half score on de_inferno, as the Brazilian side claimed a 16 - 09 victory on home soil. The result will mean a lot to mibr given their recent line-up problems regarding Element and xed. The outcome is also the Brazilian sides first international tournament victory, in an event which included the likes of SK-Gaming, SSV-Lehnitz, United 5 and g3x. Full standings are shown below.

Most obvious to observers of the event is the strength of the much-underrated Brazilian Counter-Strike scene, occupying four of the top six positions. With a little added sponsorship we could well see the likes of GameCrashers and Revoltz battling it out for top honours at other major CS competitions. SK-Gaming will once again have to reflect on a relatively poor performance and wonder how they went from ESWC Winners/WCG Runners up to 8th place at a competition which included only four european teams. Wings too had a disappointing competition given recent performances in european events. Fastlane put in another solid display whilst United 5 will only be slightly disappointed with their result given the array of changes happening in the team over the past few months.

The next leg of the CPL World Tour takes place at Dreamhack in Sweden, no word yet on the whether the organisers will include an accompanying CS tournament, but with an attendance of roughly 6,000 it seems likely.
