UT2004? i dunno how many ppl play it, ive pld it and its quite good but i cant see it as the basis for a £1m tournament.... Painkiller was used @ ESWC and that looked quite good but then again how many people play that? 	Myers Saviour of UKT UKTerrorist 09:40 14/7/2004	i wouldn't bother, break it down. 10 countries = 10 events = $100,000 per event in total prize money. say the first prize at these events is $50,000 2nd $25,000 3rd $15,000 4th $10,000 etc etc. Then convert that to £ = about a 1st prize of about £26,000. Per event. Then look at taxes and any other unforseen costs which could well take up to 40% of that. It'll cost u about £25,000 to attend all 10 events. CS will always be the biggest gaming community on the net, no escaping that, when HL2/CS Source comes out it'll bring even more new players to it. Moving away from it now on a permanent basis, would be the dumbest move ever. Just having the ability to pause makes them far more enjoyable and theres a hell of a lot more to do in WC3 than CS which is point & click adventures. No idea what would be played, something like Halo or possibly but unlikely trying to tap into the huge Korean/asian (+ old school everywhere else) market of Broodwar. There probably wouldn't be enough sponsorship for more than a handful of teams to play professionally at the moment, and you need that kind of consistency to get more spectators involved. Just having the ability to pause makes them far more enjoyable and theres a hell of a lot more to do in WC3 than CS which is point & click adventures. No idea what would be played, something like Halo or possibly but unlikely trying to tap into the huge Korean/asian (+ old school everywhere else) market of Broodwar. Per event. Then look at taxes and any other unforseen costs which could well take up to 40% of that. It'll cost u about £25,000 to attend all 10 events. So the only way your going to come out in profit here is by coming top 3 every event. Which given the current gaming climate is gonna be difficult at best. Surely you mean top 3 at ONE event.
