The biggest E-Sports event in the World, The CPL have today officially announced their Summer 2004 event. Although most of us are aware of the event and the plans for the competition, it has not been officially confirmed until today.
The organisers of the Intel sponsored event also revealed how the total prize money of $250,000 will be distributed between the successful teams:
The Extreme World Championships will take place on Wednesday, July 28 to Sunday, August 1, 2004 at the very impressive Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas.
The organisers have released a lengthy report, which can be found here. Here's a snippet:
Although the event had not been officially announced until today, thousands of gamers from all over the world already have registered online, also booking rooms in three different hotels at record levels. In the competitor category, over 1,600 gamers have registered to participate in one of four official tournaments, making it the world's largest professional computer games competition.
This is set to be the biggest event of it's kind, and I'm sure you'll agree, it's going to be quite a show.

Right, kids, we have a choice of two equally terrible puns available here: either something to do with BYOC, in this standing for "Bring Your Own c**k", or muttering something about sneaking in the back door and giving the pro's a good seeing to.
Where we go from here, is up to you. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]
