After 100 action-packed games, the CPL summer event is over. The winners, Schroet Kommando, pick up the whopping first prize of $60,000. The final seemed to be over after the seventh round, SK were tearing Team9 apart after winning the first seven rounds. Rarely do you see a team of their calibre throw away a 7-0 lead.
Team9 managed to claw back 3 rounds towards the end of the first half, but it all seemed to little too late. However, the second half began and Team9 immediately took the first four rounds, giving themselves some hope. However, SK once again went on the rampage and, thanks to some excellent play by fisker, managed to win the next 3 rounds, leaving the score at 12-7. SK needed one more round to win, but team9 were determined not to concede it. They managed to win the next round, but SK were just too strong and they won the next round to take the CPL title.
The game was not as tight as some of us thought it might be, it was clear to all that SK has been doing some serious practising since their defeat in the ESWC last month.
All that remains is for me to offer my congratulations to SK and commiserations to Team9. Dev will be doing a final review shortly, so check back for that; We both hope you enjoyed our coverage.
