The CPL Europe has today officially announced the CPL Cannes. Without further ado, here's the offical statement:CPL Europe announced today the Intel CPL Europe Cannes Event, which will take place from March 13th - March 16th in Cannes, France. This event will take place within the Video Games Show in the Palais des Festivals et des Congręs and hosts, in addition to the main Counter-Strike and WarCraft III tournaments, two additional tournaments: Fifa 2003 (3.000 € Prize purse) and Raven Shield (3.000 € Prize purse).There are a few details to note from that, including the 17 years or over age limit and the addition of 2 more games. Head over to CPL Europe website to read it for yourself.The registration for the Intel CPL Europe Cannes Event, will open on Wednesday, February 5th at 14:00 CET. Only gamers that reach the age of 17 by the first day of the event will be allowed participation. Parental consents are no longer accepted as exceptions to this rule.
There will be a total amount of 64 possible players (+32 on a waiting list) in the WarCraft III 1on1 tournament, and 32 teams (+ 12 on a waiting list) in the Counter-Strike tournament. The participation fee is 40 Euro for each player. Only paid teams with the required quorum of players can enter the Intel CPL Europe Cannes Event. Payments will be accepted either by bank transfer or PayPal. It is no longer possible to pay admission at the event.
The total prize purse will be 25.000 €.
