CPL To Set New Record

The CPL, Novalogic and Shuttle Computers are teaming up for what hopefully will end up being, a world record for the world's largest LAN game. Novalogic and Shuttle Computers will be running sweepstakes to give people the chance to win a copy of Joint Ops - the game that will be used to try and set the record. Joint Ops allows as many as 150 people playing a FPS with other people, on the same server at and same time. The full World record attempt will be going live at 7pm (CST) on July 30th. That's 1am (GMT) if you wanted to stay up to see how it goes.

I felt Romerz was right to report this as Joint Operations features terrorists/counter-terrorists siutation and is also a first-person shooter, so it is not totally unlike Counter-Strike. Also with the upcoming CPL Summer championships coming up, it was a nice, subtle way to reintroduce the CPL slowly back into our minds, with the tournament fast approaching.
