Changes in North/South America

Those with a vague interest in the North and South American gaming scenes will be aware of some recent changes in a few of the top teams. The big news came yesterday when ESWC winners Complexity Syndicate removed Sunman from the line-up. The change came as a big surprise following Sunman's impressive performances throughout the event in Paris which helped coL to one of the biggest prizes on the eSports calendar this year.

Sunman joined Complexity Syndicate back in March and as a member of the team won a CAL-Invite title, the CEVO Championships and was expected to compete in the finals of GGL's Americup. Complexity manager Jason Lake explained:

"Our [Complexity's] organization is very demanding when it comes to the level of dedication and commitment we ask from our players. At this point in his life, Justin has other relationships and obligations that make it difficult for him to continue this strict regiment."

It was announced on TsN last night that Exodus, a member of the GamerCo team which finished 3rd at the CPL Winter 04 World Championships would replace Sunman.

In South America the upcoming MiBr cup II has certainly forced CPL Brazil winners Made in Brazil to re-evaluate their squad. It is difficult to find definitive information on this, to my understanding each year the MiBr organisation offers their sponsorship to the winners and runners up of the competition. Last time around MiBr won with REVOLTZ finishing in 2nd place. If the current MiBr squad were to perform poorly at the event they might well lose their sponsorship.

In preparation for the tournament MiBr's KIKO and xed have left/been removed from the team to making way for btt and ton, both formerly of GameCrashers.

if one of MIBR players father owned them/ sponsored them, it would matter if they lost hte sponsorship to another team, he would probably just implement it so that his son moves to which ever team has the sponsorship to keep him happy and in the money. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

Two people did, not everyone. Looking at your profile, I can see that you've voted "Don't care" for two polls. What's up with that, Ron? [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]
