The UK/IE CS Cup, a prestigious and highly anticipated CS competition in the United Kingdom and Ireland, which aims to stand out both as online and LAN event, started its season with 136 accepted British and Irish CS teams. The Groupstage starts its third out of five weeks, making it more and more interesting to watch.
Wednesday's Results
- 8pm, nocturne 23 - 25 SFAL (Group D),
(inferno/fire) - coX Vs bleeding-Edge (Group D), Wildcarded by bE (inferno/fire)
- 9pm, UniCon 35 - 13 The Irish Connection.uk (Group G),
(inferno/fire) - Choke Vs outrage! (Group E), Rescheduled (inferno/fire)
SFAL have qualified for the playoffs with this win, with only Alliance remaining to stand in their way to secure the no.1 spot (which would give them a bye to the 8th finals). It has to be noted on the SFAL-nocturne match that nocturne were forced to play the second map with only four players, as they lost one at half time (score 17-7 then) and didnt have another player available to substitute. UniCon are back in the race for the playoff spot in their group, for fcek its only a match for honour remaining against current group leaders vLr!.
Thursday's Matches
- 8pm, CAution! Vs CNN (Group B), Wildcarded by CNN (inferno/fire)
- BLACKLiGHT 29 - 19 eForce United (Group F), #ukiecup.2
(inferno/fire) - 9pm, 2seXeh 2perfoRm Vs Assault Kommando (Group C), Wildcarded by Ak (inferno/fire)
- SCEE 28 - 20 contact! (Group B), #ukiecup.4
(inferno/fire)
CNN Vs. CAution was gonna be a very interesting fixture, as it was a direct battle for the no.1 spot in Group B, but we just received word it was wildcarded. Blacklight, 2s2p and SCEE will just have to secure the so needed two rating points, as they dont seem to come easieer than this in the groupstage on paper, with two though and decisive fixtures coming up for them after this.Interview with three Cup players
