Clanbase UK/IE Cup: Preview of the Final

Eighty teams participated in the UK/IE Cup, and one by one they were knocked out. Two teams survived it all, and will fight tonight in the Final of the Cup. The odds are 70 to 30 in favour of MonkeyMagic. Can they be proven wrong?

MonkeyMagic: Messiah, Rav0r, Toomy, SiN, Smiffeh, Puneet, Vertakill

MonkeyMagic started the Cup by winning their first match 14-10 against pacifico, and never looked back. They added teams like SCEE, Puk Kai, Game2XS, Blacklight, and zebras, one by one to their list of victories. Last week, it seemed for a moment that there was a way to stop this team, when Choke managed to win the first map in their semi-final encounter, 14-10. But alas, MonkeyMagic pushed on in the second map and shoved Choke aside. Tonight they play with only one goal...to get the gold.

Disturbed: Rhyzz, geordie, Headshot Man, Wolfeh, vip, poog, duck

Disturbed also started their UK/IE Cup campaign with a close victory, 13-11 against suiGeneris, but then had no problems progressing through the groupstages. AnTs were beaten 26-22, and although disturbed officially folded, they decided to play on until the end, beating RemOte and Blacklight en route to the semi-final. dreaM! was their next opponent and although they lost this game, they progressed after it emerged that their opponent had violated the anti-cheat rules. Tonight is their second chance, can they prove everyone wrong and beat the cup's favourite in its finest hour?

The initial idea to have the final on LAN (UniCon offered to host the final in their LANcentre for free) was dropped as various disturbed players couldnt afford, or set free, the money required for the travel to Manchester. Therefore, the game will be played online.

Pre-Match interview

I gathered up Vertakill, Smiffeh (MM) together with Rhyzz and Headshot Man (dist) for a pre-match interview. A snippet:

Rhyzz: I dont think its factual to say they will have an easy run but yes i'd expect them to beat us

great game lads thought we would falll apart and lose it like we usually do in those situations we always seem to get ourselves in.

Having 3 players lag out every so often didnt help and it was nice of them to let us play ct half of train on our svr.

They outplayed us for long periods but having Vertakill in the side has made a big difference as he helps keep things together. Even tho by his own admission, he couldnt hit the floor if he dropped his gun atm. He still helps us to keep it together.
