The first 3-4 weeks used to be really tough as it was heavily focussed on fitness, plus you get to wash all your tabs and stuff by hand,(like you did after your endurance run at the prc :P) before they give you access to a washing machine lol :P Once the classwork kicks in and you move out of general barracks it gets a little easier cause most of the weaker recruits have left and the ones still there get more respect. You get to use a quilt too so you don't have to keep making the fu*king bedroll every mornin :D [ Comment: Report \| IP: Logged ]

	Nazg0l fightclubclan 16:05 11/8/2003	i disagree about needing good prizes for a league to be successful. I dont think the UK has ever had a league with all the top10 clans in it, no "weak" teams. I think if we had a league like that (which would probably leave out 4K), all the other teams would appreciate some good competition. i know fcc are taking part in CSGN prem for that reason, and a league like im suggesting would push that further. im thinking: clanONE, omg!, last chance, immiment, marines, disturbed, fcc, choke, unicon... basically clans of a good standard who will push the top clans, and wont split up next week. i know CSGN is close, but it isnt there yet, we need the equivalent of a CAL-i, or SEL in the UK, so everyone knows where they stand. i was thinking last night that uk cs is a bit like Boxing - 14 different bodies all with different ideas on who is champion, so there isnt usually a consensus. discuss [ Comment: Report \| IP: Logged ]

	Katori Choke 16:49 11/8/2003	Agreed Naz and Atemi, CS, like Boxing isn’t subjected to 1 or 2 Governing bodies or leagues. Boxing having WBO, WBC, WBA and the Euro and National divisions, and CS having a variety of leagues, tourneys and ladders, none of which report into a single organisation that can rank teams effectively. Thrown into the mix then you have the online/LAN separatism which so often opens up debates, with some clans only playing LAN, some only online and a few competing across both mediums. UKT and ZeNi seem to have a pretty good table in place for ranking (though it’s out of date) and with a little work and promoting, I don’t see why that can’t be used as the definitive UK ranking system. Collating the results data from all “recognised” leagues and tourneys, these being decided upon by UKT when a Comp organiser requests their tourney being included into the UK rankings. (Based upon the skill level of clans playing in the highest division etc etc) The National rankings could then be split into maybe 3 divisions of 20 clans in order to capture results from the clans that are competing, but not yet at the highest level, thus giving more clans incentive to join leagues, improve their level and their position within the Rankings. E.g.: UK Ranking recognises, BWCSL, CSGN, Savage, ECSL, UKT, WCG etc. A points system is then agreed upon for Online and LAN and can vary dependant on the positions of the teams defeated by the victorious clan. This is, naturally, a vague outline, but will then give people a clear indication of each Teams rank. It could in the long run improve the quality of UK CS, give League organisers a clear picture of who they should be placing in which divisions with opposed to simply using their own judgement and also hopefully attract the bigger names into Tourneys when there are Ranking points up for grabs. Them main problem lies in the point Atemi mentions, someone actually putting in the time to set-up and maintain such a system. Ideally they need the backing of a well known CS/Gaming medium, such as UK! ;o) [ Comment: Report \| IP: Logged ]

	rd theb0g 18:12 11/8/2003	arsen he has been telling me about it constantly for like the past 3 days since he has got back. the first 3/4 weeks were hard, but now he is jst gettin thrased alot. been in field for the past week and the rations r horrible he said. tho he said goin on the ranges is wicked, he just passed that before he got back. there is a brothel in exeter near the base aswel which he said alot of the marines go 2 :P he said the worst things r bein woken at like 2am and made 2 crawl thru rivers and bein chucked into freezing cold tanks. tho the worst yet was sprintin wiv gas masks on, coz its like runnin wiv ur hand smotherin ur mouth. he said loads hav dropped out but he is enjoyin it so gl son :) [ Comment: Report \| IP: Logged ]
	Ghost ctx 18:20 11/8/2003	What you need is 1 governing body, and i feel for that governing body to be successful and to have rules that stand up and are followed it needs to partner itself with big leagues and tournaments liek SEL, CPL and CAL so that if any team wants to enter and compete in these they need to sign a contract or whatever with the governing body, so that right away gets mostly all of the top teams signed up to the governing bodys rules and enables them to make decisions and rules that affect the majority of the clans in the world. 	ken 01:17 12/8/2003	wow, gl with the marines thing arsen :o i went up there for a week with our cadets ages ago, and must have lost about 2 stone and got 400% fitter by the time i came back :D is the endurance run the cross country one with all the tunnels? i amusingly got stuck in the completely-underwater tunnel and nearly drowned :/ i don't think they have much need for big fat basts in the marines :P the high-wire course is ridiculously scary too :( best of luck anyway. and i agree with posts near the top, the uk needs a 'premiership' cs league (a la SEL), with prizes to attract the top clans. it's sad that there's no companies willing to give that sort of investment yet :/ [ Comment: Report \| IP: Logged ]
	Hotshot Choke 12:54 12/8/2003	One recurrence in the theme of this governing body discussion, seems to be that top clans want prizes to play in leagues. Granted, who wouldnt. But it shouldnt be the only reason that clans enter a league. If the quality of prizes arent to a high enough "standard" then the clan doesnt compete and thus you get the scattering of clans amongst the competitions we have at the moment. If someone does set this up, off their own back, then surely some co-operation from the top clans during its conception would be appropriate? 	Ghost ctx 18:20 11/8/2003	What you need is 1 governing body, and i feel for that governing body to be successful and to have rules that stand up and are followed it needs to partner itself with big leagues and tournaments liek SEL, CPL and CAL so that if any team wants to enter and compete in these they need to sign a contract or whatever with the governing body, so that right away gets mostly all of the top teams signed up to the governing bodys rules and enables them to make decisions and rules that affect the majority of the clans in the world. 	ken 01:17 12/8/2003	wow, gl with the marines thing arsen :o i went up there for a week with our cadets ages ago, and must have lost about 2 stone and got 400% fitter by the time i came back :D is the endurance run the cross country one with all the tunnels? i amusingly got stuck in the completely-underwater tunnel and nearly drowned :/ i don't think they have much need for big fat basts in the marines :P the high-wire course is ridiculously scary too :( best of luck anyway. and i agree with posts near the top, the uk needs a 'premiership' cs league (a la SEL), with prizes to attract the top clans. it's sad that there's no companies willing to give that sort of investment yet :/ [ Comment: Report \| IP: Logged ]
	Hotshot Choke 12:54 12/8/2003	One recurrence in the theme of this governing body discussion, seems to be that top clans want prizes to play in leagues. Granted, who wouldnt. But it shouldnt be the only reason that clans enter a league. If the quality of prizes arent to a high enough "standard" then the clan doesnt compete and thus you get the scattering of clans amongst the competitions we have at the moment. If someone does set this up, off their own back, then surely some co-operation from the top clans during its conception would be appropriate?
