UKTerrorist, supported by the Virtual Gaming Alliance, are pleased to announce the UKTerrorist 2003 LAN Championships. The UKTerrorist LAN Championships will take place from February – August 2003, with an 8 – 16 team double elimination Counter-Strike tournament being held at the end of each month.
Instead of the usual mediocre cash or product prizes being rewarded for winning these events, each team will receive points based upon their position. At the end of the season the top teams will be invited to the "Secondary Strike 2003" Tournament, which will include prizes like the £2,500 first prize.
The UKTerrorist Championships, the first competition of its kind in the UK, will promote LAN gaming and provide gamers with much more LAN competitions, as well as more chances to socialize with fellow gamers. UKTerrorist and the Virtual Gaming Alliance hope to see as many of you as possible in the upcoming months.
About VGA
The VGA (Virtual Gaming Alliance) was established three years ago by the leading LAN and online gaming centres in the UK. It was designed to enable and promote gaming to more people in the UK, as well as forming a coherent alliance between gaming centres. This allows the VGA to deal directly with the games publishers and sponsors, and easily organise large-scale national tournaments open to all, regardless of location and home facilities. Such an alliance yields other benefits such as allowing its members to deal directly with suppliers of hardware, software, accessories and connectivity, giving better pricing and a single point of contact for those companies wishing to sell their products to what was previously a disparate group of organisations.

If the socializing is anything like on here, and half of what some idiots say become their actions, it will be like a boxing match.
Apart from that, sounds good. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

All 6 of the lan events will be open to any clans. The top teams after these 6 events will be invited to Secondary Strike a 'Grand final' if you will, where they'll compete for the major prizes.
Compare it to the F1 style point structure where they have 12 races and at the end of the season whoever did best wins etc..., well same here except at the end of the seasons the top teams will be invited to a grand final
This is not a CPL event, so therefore the age limits set by them does not apply, presently (i'll have to check up on this) there is no age limit, if there is one enforced it'll be about 15/16.
It does not matter if you miss one event, your points will still stand. Just attend as many events as you can.
No chris0 it's not winner take all, the top prize £2,500 the rest of the prizes will be distributed down to 8th.
Yeh deebo i regret to say that not evey team will be able to attend every event. But in the spirit of competition please attend as many as you can :).
Any more questions don't hesitate to ask :) [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

The £15 will buy an all day pass at the VGA centre who will be closed to the public more or less thus losing out on income. I assume some of the will go in to the prize poule too, but Meyers is hardly likely to be driving a Merc when this is over.
Id imagine that Northampton will host all the 6 events because its central to most ppl and proven at hosting big events.
Hope the format can be 4 poules of 4 and then a playoff because traveling to a LAN to only get 2 games is a bit of a mission. However with said all day pass I guess scrims outside the tourney for clans knocked out could go on (make this happen!)
Looks good for the UK scene. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

rofl, think of the publicity you will get. "UKT Staff inclusive of all star 4k c**ksucker-myers take on any team that challenges them". bet you'll get a good 2 people turning up to watch you battle it off on stage.....something to pay good money for that is. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

I doubt any team will be able to attend every single event, but we're just asking to attend as many as possible. You wont have to do 'that' well really to get invited back to Secondary Strike. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]
