Swedish clan NiP have won the ELSA CPL Europe event after a fairly comfortable victory over aT in the final earlier today.First map up was de_dust2, where NiP started as Terrorists. After a shaky start, where aT won 3 rounds as CT, NiP settled in to take 13 rounds in total as Terrorist (Some sites report it as 14, but the bomb blew up just seconds after the match ended, meaning the round didn't count). Next up were aT to have a crack at being T...they did pretty well to start with yet again, but once more, NiP seemed to settle in as CT and managed to defend pretty effectively. In the end aT could only manage 5 rounds, most of which came in the first part of the map as they were gradually worn away by NiP. Dust2 score...13-5 to NiP.
De_nuke was the next map on the agenda with aT starting as T. They had to win at least 8 rounds to force NiP into playing as T. As most people expected, NiP defended brilliantly as CT to wrap up the match (and tournament), allowing only 3 rounds to be lost to aT, 5 short of the required amount for aT. Having already won, there was no need for NiP to even try out their Terrorist tactics.
Congratultions to NiP, very well played and enhanced their reputation further among the European clan scene. Also a great tournament performance by French clan aT, who many expected wouldn't even reach the latter stages of the event.
Well played all.
