The Colonel has written a new article over on Stomped entitled 'Witch Hunt Turns Ugly: How PunkBuster Can Be Used for Evil'.It's about Punkbuster and how it can perhaps be used for the wrong reasons:
"Simply put, you don't give that kind of information to clan masters who can use it to their own advantage. Exploitation of such information is inevitable, as is the incident with Clan RDW. Recently, Clan RDW branded beeraso, BiTE CS League administrator, a cheater by using logs obtained from PunkBuster. Common sense would dictate that a person would go to that administrator for an explanation since that person is of such high importance in the community. However, Clan RDW chose NOT to approach beeraso and immediately him a cheater, with a scathing, unjustified, and vindictive comment: "fgt". Calling beeraso a cheater is as absurd as claiming God as Satan. It's simply not done. As a responsible journalist, as opposed to what Clan RDW call themselves as 'reporters', I went straight to the source for answers."
Ultimately, the article covers how PB can cause unfounded cheat accusations, as well as stoping cheats.
