CPL details announced

The Cyberathlete Professional League has released the details of its upcoming winter championships. This news has come shortly after the partnership between the CPL and WSVG was announced. This partnership will involve the CPL Summer event being placed as the second event on the upcoming WSVG series.

The event will take place at the Hyatt Regency in Dallas, Texas. The dates will be Wednesday December 13 to Sunday December 17. There will be official and unofficial tournaments. The winter event will hold a large BYOC, exhibitions, concerts, workshops and other activities.

The CPL had previously announced its 2007 Summer event. This is to be held at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas and will be held on Wednesday July 18 to Sunday July 23.

CPL Dates

Summer 2006 (Grapevine) July 5 -> July6
Winter 2006 (Dallas) December 13 -> December 17
Summer 2007 (Grapevine) July 18 -> July 23

Signups for the Summer event this year have closed, more information about this event can be found here [link]. This years event shall host a Counter-strike 1.6 tournament and a Quake 4 1on1 tournament. The Counter-Strike 1.6 tournament cash prize is now $150,000 and the Quake 4 tournament cash prize is $75,000. There will also be a 64 team Counter-strike Source tournament which still has open signups.
