Crinity and Madcross Interviewed

Counter-Strike.ch have interviwed Crinity and Madcross, mappers of the acclaimed de_torn (another candidate map for inclusion in version 1.3 of Counter-Strike):

Starkard: What was your inspiration for de_torn?
Madcross: We wanted to create a visually appealing and atmospheric map that would really involve the player in the environment. We came across some fantastic photographs of Turkish buildings and cities while searching the net one day and decided to use that as a starting point. The inspiration for gameplay came from a wanting to put the speed and openness of de_dust together with the possibility for more complex confrontational scenarios.
Crinity: We originally wanted to make a dirty, rainy eastern Eurpoean town (more like Balkanconlict), but after finding cool pictures of Turkish villages, we decided to go for that.

Starkard: When will be the release of your map de_torn?
Madcross: I wish I knew. If Cliffe decides to make it official then it will come with the release of 1.3. If not then we will release it as soon as we find out Cliffe's decision.
Crinity: Things are looking good for 1.3
