Yesterday CSGN released the first versions of the highly anticipated CSGN anti-cheat. For those of you who haven't used it yet, on top of the usual cheat detection it also uploads screen shots and configuration files to your CSGN profile. Rumours are that a cracked version of the anti cheat is already available, however these have not been confirmed and there's only a suspicious looking screenshot currently available.
A forum has been setup for reporting bugs and suggestions for improvements that could be made to the software, which you can visit here. Those of you on university connections particularly may want to test the software as there appear to be some issues.
Once the major bugs are ironed out and with frequent updates being made, it looks like this new anti cheat could be highly successful in CSGN season six. With recent controversies in other online leagues, let's hope such anti cheat measures can also be incorporated.
For more information and to download the latest version of the CSGN anti cheat, visit the CSGN website.
Just as a reminder CSGN season 6 signups close on the 4/5th of February, so get those applications in soon for a chance of a spot.

antirecoil is in a different league to 180... think about it, its actually easyer to look away from whereever the flash is coming from than just to blindly 180. and assuming you're not using a 1 sens on 60hz i'm sure everyone can do a 180 ;)

cheats will always win and always deny they cheat. everyone should just cheat to level the playign field, then we'll just overturn any results the leagues aint happy with so we have the same few clans with the biggest bum boy followers winning all the time. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

To address some of the important points you made.
a) There was no sound evidence that the CSGN AntiCheat was cracked apart from a rather suspicious (photoshop jobby) looking screenshot. We are merely being sceptical, something you know all about!
b) Our choice to recode the anticheat was based on the noted scepticism made in point a) This WILL prevent their previous theoretical methodology from working. (excuse the words with more than 10 letters!)
c) Proving it had been hacked is not all that hard baring in mind they need to release it for it to be used.
The suggestion of cracking the CSGN AntiCheat was made by a “mainstream” hacking group – which I personally take as a complement. If they consider it good enough to justify spending the time hacking it, then we’re doing something right.

I've been "in this game" as well for nigh on the same number of years as you have.....I might not be as "famous" ;) but I have no desire to be....
I've been coding and developing Microsoft systems for ten years commercially now - for major blue chips, small companies, blah blah blah........and I'm very much involved with the CSGN effort to stop cheating in season 6.
I understand your POV re "can cheating be stopped", but as i said before - all you have to do is throw time and effort at the problem, and with a combination of prerequisites i.e. the uploaded demos, the screenshots, the anti cheat itself, and secure technology, it's completely possible to derive enough evidence that can't be tampered with to weed out the cheaters, (see the stir the config uploader is causing already) and if it's not 100% secure first time round - we'll do it till it is - for your pleasure.
...If the Inland revenue will allow my software company to develop secure e-submissions software to submit stamp duty applications for £tens of millions securely, I'm sure I can help CSGN - or I can at least try eh ;)

Tiz: Blinder's input into the CSGN AntiCheat software was invaluable and without him it is unlikely it would have made it off the ground. He had a significant part to play in its coding development. he did "hlep them code the beta".

With that said, obs, its nice to know you and your team are actually going through with this and making an attempt, That alone deserves some sort of commendation. Actions speak louder than words.
Hope it works out for you obs, if blinder's and good as you say, yourself, blinder, and stono should have no problem developing a solid/stable cheat detection application for an online league which i would rate the best in the UK!
Again, hope it works out. Take care.

tiz-^^ see the above answers, and as for justifying my credentials with you - unless you are offering me a job - I don't think I really need to do that for you :)
As for my commitments tiz, thanks for your concern, but i'm sure i'll manage.....i'm happy helping with, and feel lucky to be a part of CSGN, and their cause I consider to be extremely worthwhile.

as for me being famous blinder, I have no desire to be either. I'm sure you meant infamous anyway. a few more letters, not quite 10, but I'm sure obsidian can explain the difference if wants.
Nor do I wish to be a progamer or to be the #1 and have a million idlers or fanboys. I merely wish to enjoy a fair game of cs win or lose.
Again you didnt answer why I should be optimistic? Because you've been in the game near 5yrs aswell? In that time what has been achieved that hasnt been undone immediately by the cheaters? Everything.
Now you want me to be optimistic because you're involved and your company develops secure e-submission software/applications?
However I am optismistic that this anti cheat will loser the amount of cheats competing in CSGN and minimise those games were you come out the server afterwards knowing you've been unfairly done over. I'm grateful for that, however if I play a game no amount of anti cheat is going to tell me otherwise when I 'get that known to well feeling' that one of their team is hacking his arse off and won't be found out.
final note: I'm a fan of csgn and its league, and it's work in trying to make it as clean and fair as possible is both commendable and admirable. Just down speak down to your customers/players/teams like you're some messiah because your involved in one of many attempts to stop cheating. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

I did mean famous btw - as in you being so well known in the UK cs community - thats all. /shrug
And to answer your question directly, you should be optimistic because with the uploading of screenshots, demos, and configs, new development languages, database references, and plugins we should reach a point where cheaters simply cannot circumvent both the rules and the software. They could do it in the past 5 years because the engine remained the same, and the hooks and hacks remained the same - with the advent of .NET and other goodies things are changing....so you should be optimistic.
I'm not talking down to you or anyone else either DK, but i'm not about to post my cv or personal details on here because someone thinks i'm 14 and am shouting bs - i'll just be chuffed if we can get rid of incidents like ants vs landed, and c4u vs 4k - the references to my experience are designed to give you some optimism thats all, not belittle anyone, and yes because of the work i've done in other applications you should take that into account - why not? The technology is very similar and cant be hacked - so why not apply it to CSGN Anti Cheat?
I just want to see a fair game of cs the same as you do...... [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]
