The second and third Interviews at Stomped, with Gooseman and Cliffe the creators of CS, have been released. They discuss how the CS team became involved with Valve and how Barking Dog Studios helped with the games construction.Stomped: What were the reasons behind selling a retail stand-alone version of Counter-Strike?Wanna read more? Click hereGooseman: Actually, believe it or not, I think there's some people out there that would rather spend a few bucks buying the game and getting a sweet box than spending their time downloading 200+ megs for 4 quality mods.
cliffe: HL: CS will give those on slower connections an alternative to waiting 4 days for an .exe to give them a CRC error. Keep in mind though, that the distribution of CS on our site will remain unchanged. You will STILL be able to d/l CS for free. The retail version will simply contain extra goodies like a training mission. The new retail will also give Frank "Bucklez" Nuccio at Domain of Games (http://www.domainofgames.com/) some cool crap to give away for his contests.
Stomped: Do you plan to continue to refine the mod after version 1.0 is released?
Gooseman: Yes, future versions should be done to address bugs/cheats that crop up.
cliffe: Yes, there will probably be a 1.1, 1.2, etc.
