Following recent announcements from NoA, GamerCo and Mouz about their acceptance of invitations for the WEG league in China / Korea the organisation has now confirmed all the teams that will be competing. The league is offering a first prize of $50,000 and the teams involved will be living and playing in Korea. Initially SK.swe were invited but with all the NiP business they declined their invitation and so the 2nd European team to travel across the world will be our very own 4Kings.
This leaves the full team list as follows:
wNv
ABIT Strike
Mousesports
NoAAs you can see it will be a tough competition but an opportunity of a lifetime for everyone involved. The Grand Final of the first season will be showcased in the Forbidden City in China. A full press release can be read here. There is also a website you can visit for more information and an English version is promised for a release tomorrow. Good luck to 4Kings.

What like those popular office jobs fashionable around these parts? Or what about the retail store jobs?
I'd much rather play a game and get a salary from it working the same amount of hours as I would sitting in an office all day - but then again I'm not going to get a poxy office job like majority.
However if I was good enough I wouldn't say no to a $500,000 salary for playing as a top player in korea, I doubt anyone would. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

The fact that there are much better players in the world than a couple of the Chinese guys would suggest it was excessive. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

When my dad tells me about his life, how hard he worked, and how he worked his way up, its inspiring. If he had said "i got everything for free cause I played computer games", that would really inspire me or motivated me to work at school and uni and get qualifications.
Lets face it, you dont do a-level, or miss loads out cause you are traveling the world, you then dont go to uni, and then a few years down the line your pro leet skills in cs wont mean jack, you will be too old to play games.
Then what do you do? Become a manager? rofl.... [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

Go back and continue your education, and get one of these "real" jobs?
Knocking someone for taking a chance to do something they love and getting paid to do it in the process is small minded and reeks of jealousy. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

In wage terms, their job is nothing. SK werent even gettin $2500 a month. I think it was ahl or fisker who commented in an interview they needed prize money to survive.
And when you say travel the world, going to Dallas twice a year does not constitute "seeing the world".
I applaud the idea of pro gaming, but seriously dont get ahead of yourself, because right now its future (especially for FPS players) is far from certain, especially for 4K, who are a good team, but definatly not top 5, maybe top 10 at a push. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]
