Rah! Today is CS' 2nd birthday - 3 Cheers for the CS team, valve and all those people who have helped make this mod what it is today.

Here's a snippet from CS-Nation:

CS has changed quite a lot from the early days. 400 peak players has exploded into sixty thousand peak players a night, and a small gem has ballooned into a huge phenomenon. Counter-Strike is the perfect story of a self-made man, rather, a self-made game.

Counter-Strike didn't have a huge marketing team behind it at first, it had cliffe. CS didn't have a publisher, it had download sites. CS didn't have hype, it had material.
