Recent rumours regarding the upcoming CPL Europe in Berlin, Germany have claimed that there was going to be a Quake 3 tourney only at the event, with CS being dropped for the meeting.

This was apparently all wrong and suggestions of this by cyberfight.ru were way off the mark according to this snippet I found on Shackes:

"After talking to Ralf 'Griff' Reichert personally, it turns out that the information that Cyberfight posted was based on an internal mail they received. Confidential information was not only openly published but misunderstood as well. Mr. Reichert said "There will be a Quake3 and a Counter-Strike tournament at the German CPL Europe event. At no point did we ever say we'd drop Counter-Strike from one of our tournaments."

Ralf Reichert wasn't willing to give away further details at this time."

I'm sure most people knew this would turn out to be wrong considering the popularity and pulling power of CS.
