Lastnight was the BWCSL final...i packed into #bwcsl-final with the rest of the punters to "watch" the game with their IRC matchbot. It was numbers against UKLA, both teams being very good, so it was gonna be quite a match. Numbers played their way to the finals by beating M2S, KK and CHS whereas UKLA faced o3^UK, marine and GLtC. With none of these clans being easy to beat, the quality of UKLA and numbers is quite significant.The match began at about 8:30 and the map was de_nuke. The ever so reliable coin toss meant that numbers were terrorists first, and UKLA counter-terrorists. Being that it was CO rules, numbers had to set the pace, and UKLA would have to better numbers score to win. The match began very well, numbers going straight in for a glock rush and suprisingly managing to take out a lot of UKLA players. Numbers win the first round. This meant now they had money for big guns and UKLA would have to rely on pistols and mp5's. Numbers win the next two or three rounds with this advantage. But then UKLA got money and really rose to numbers and started pulling back. Numbers managed to put the bomb down occasionally, but UKLA always managed to pull off a last minute defuse. Numbers score 7 rounds. Now UKLA knew that they needed 8 rounds to win...but that is no easy feat against numbers. At this point i got a bit bored of "watching" the game in IRC and decided it would be more productive to slap some m8's about with a large trout, so I missed UKLA's turn as terrorists, but judging from what I heard it was pretty tense with UKLA scoring 6 rounds, and almost taking it into sudden death. This mean numbers win over UKLA 7-6.
Congratulations to Numbers, I think they win a BW port. Demos should be available either today or sometime soon, check 'em out, they are worth a download.
