I just got the new issue of PC Gamer through the door this morning, with a 3 page article on the forthcoming CS: Condition Zero. I would scan it in, but my scanner is up the creak, so if anyone else would like to oblige, please e-mail me spacecowboy@ukterrorist.com. Because of this, I'll just quote of a couple of the few main points."This is Counter-Strike: Condition Zero, a new standalone title in the Counter-strike franchise that will introduce single-player action, as well as new multi-player features on an extension of the old engine. So it's not CS2 not is it related to TF2 in any way.""CS: CZ will be based on the Half-Life engine, but with several modifications that provide for enhanced graphics, higher polygon models and other new technologies such as voice and the spectator mode."
"You will be one character in the game. You will interact with other NPCs, giving and recieving commands as you would a human in a multi-player game."
This won't be the revolution we've all been waiting for, but it looks like it will certainly prolong the life of CS, carrying us over into TF2/CS2. Expected release date is Winter 2001.
