The UK/IE CS Cup, one of the biggest and highly anticipated online CS competitions in the United Kingdom and Ireland, started its season with 136 accepted British and Irish CS teams. After three rounds of qualifiers this ammount was reduced to 40, this week the Groupstage ends its first week, and starts its second of five, introducing the top eight seeds into the action.

After it turned out that Infinity-eSports violated several rules regarding use of authorized players in their UK/IE Cup groupmatch against twisted Reality, they were removed from the UK/IE Cup and banned from all Clanbase competitions this season (Spring 2004). Sanctions for clans: When a clan fields a player who by the rules above was not allowed to play, then they receive a forfeit loss. If the offense involved an attempt to deceive the admins and opponents, e.g. by letting a player fakenick or by providing wrong information, then the clan and all its players will be removed and banned from the cup. If this attempted deceit occurred in the last week of group matches or later then the clan will also be excluded from the next cup season. If ClanBase judges that the deceit occurred to make the clan stronger (e.g. by letting a top player fakenick), then the clan will be permanently banned from all ClanBase competitions.

Mercing isnt really a very nice thing to do, but sometimes it just has to be done when you want to play a game :(

tbh I dont think we would have had a problem if they had just contacted us before hand and said look we've got member problems fielding a team 2night, can we merc a player.
