WCG 2005 Hosts

Posted by Myers at 13:38 23/2/2004.

The World Cyber Games organising commitee are now accepting applications for countries/cities wishing to host the 2005 event. Many will know that this year will be the first that the World Cyber Games will be held outside of South Korea.

It will be interesting to see if any other countries can give this event the same level of granduer as the previous events in South Korea. Early forerunners to host the 2005 event include Singapore, Taiwan and Germany. The World Cyber Games organising commitee released the following statement:

The selection of WCG2005 Host City is in smooth progress.
With review of the proposals, WCGC selected Singapore, Germany, Taiwan as the primary candidates for WCG2005 Host City out of several candidates who applied to host WCG2005.
The conformity to the qualification as the WCG2005 Host City that primary candidates have will be examined with presentation and WCGC¡¯s venue tour.
Through this, WCG2005 Host City will be announced officially in March.

We still awaits news, if there is to be any, of a company willing to host the UK WCG qualifiers this year.
