CyberXGaming have today announced that they will be honouring players and teams at the CXG Finals in Las Vegas, January 2004. The title of the scheme is none other than, "Gamer of the Year" with the aim being to acknowledge those teams and people that have aided in furthering the gaming community.
A snippet from the Press Release by CXG:
"Recipients of the awards will be honored at the AMD/ATI Cyber X Games: Windows XP Championships award ceremony in Las Vegas, Sunday, Jan. 11. The winner(s) of each category will be awarded $1,000 in prizes. The four categories for this year’s awards are AMD/ATI Male Team of the Year, AMD/ATI Female Team of the Year, Microsoft/Sennheiser Male Player of the Year and Microsoft Female Player of the Year."
At present you can submit your nominations on Gotfrag although you do need a Gotfrag account for this.
I think this is a good idea overall, and once again shows that there are many people and companies taking gaming seriously. All that is left to say is get those nominations in and lets see what happens in Las Vegas.
