Team AMD Gamer

Today PCGamer announced that they have chosen top UK Counter-Strike team, Online Multiplayer Gaming (OMG!) to represent Team AMD Gamer.

OMG!, with two international events under their belt including a top four placing at last week's Wipeout LAN in Switzerland and plenty of national experience, have been improving ever since they were formed back in July 2002. Now with the both product and financial backing from AMD they will be attending events worldwide, starting with CyberXGaming in Las Vegas, USA.

Team AMD Gamer (TAG) is delighted to announce the first members of its pro online gaming clan.
Sponsored by Future Publishing's leading PC Gamer magazine and by microprocessor company, AMD, TAG is initially concentrating on the recruitment for its Counter-Strike team and is today pleased to reveal the signing of the existing UK outfit Online Multiplayer Gaming (OMG) for the next 12 months. The sharp-shooting OMG team are Morgan Withers, Rob Quick, Paul Shakleton, Reece Bullers, Dave Pratt, Craig Neville and Andrew Robins.
With further specialised teams yet to be recruited, all TAG members are given the opportunity to participate in major tournaments throughout the UK, Europe and the US with all travel and accommodation costs sponsored by AMD. The team will also benefit from the cutting edge in gaming technology in the shape of AMD's new Athlon 64 FX processors.
The Counter-Strike team was handpicked from hundreds of applications to PC Gamer and came through recent interviews to claim their places in the TAG clan. Already widely regarded as one of the top Counter-Strike teams in the UK, they will now have the opportunity to fulfil their potential on the UK and international stage with the backing of AMD and PC Gamer.
A programme of events is being planned with the first major tournament likely to be the Cyber X Games taking place in Las Vegas in January. TAG will travel to this event to compete for the biggest prize in pro-gaming, with $600,000 in total prize money up for grabs in a tournament sponsored by AMD and ATI.
