Team-UK 28 - 20 Finland

Team-UK have mainted their 100% record in season 5 of the clanbase nations competition with a 28 - 20 victory over Finland. Many will remember that it was not too long ago that Finland dominated the Counter-Strike scene with teams such as [Z] and exousia. The victory means Team-UK now top their group and will play their final game against Switzerland next week.

The game started badly for the UK losing the first two rounds as Counter-Terrorist on de_train. Much alike their previous game they managed to pull ahead by winning the next 6 rounds. Unfortunately Finland got their act together and claimed the remaining 4 rounds to tie the first half at 6 rounds each.

The second half brought out a much better performance from the UK team as they breezed into a 9 - 3 victory over the Finnish outfit. This ensured that going into the second map, de_inferno, they had a 15 - 9 lead.

Finland proved to be extremely impressive on de_inferno breaking through the UK's defences frequently and causing many problems, a change from the UK's formation, however, ensured that they won the last 2 rounds so despite losing the half 9 - 3, the game was still tied at 18 - 18 overall.

The final half of the game was much more tense. The UK won 6 of the first 7 rounds meaning they only required one out of the remaining 5 rounds to win. Finland began to claw back some rounds in the hope of tying the game by taking the 8th and 9th. On the 10th round however the UK team took the final round they needed and won the game. Finland forfeited the remaining rounds meaning Team-UK won the game 28 - 20.
