I am only going on a hunch but I reckon that 1.6 will be fine come UKT5, most people want to play it, so I guess the next poll should be "are you willing to use 1.6 even if it causes problems?" 	DoZ Anti-saviour of UKT 18:09 25/9/2003	People need to be told in advance what to use and have the time to get used to it. 1.5 is the safe bet, there's NO assurance that half the problems for holding a lan tournament will be sorted for 1.6 Considering people pay money to enter and to get there, take time off work etc. To have another tournament possibly go ballsup because you're trying to use a buggy bit of software when there's a stable version would just be dumb. 	skank 18:13 25/9/2003	Obi, it is because it is an old game that it causes these fps problems, it can't use Hardware T&L so that has to be done on CPU, the more complex they make the game, the more CPU it uses, so older, slower CPUs have probs with FPS, anything 2GHz is more than enough, and they are pretty cheap nowadays. 	Myers Saviour of UKT UKTerrorist 18:16 25/9/2003	are you willing to use 1.6 even if it causes problems you really really really don't want to go down that road :) a lan tournament is all about finding the right balance most of the time, if you give all the teams all the setup time they want, you'll be finished at 3:00am...and you'll be bombarded with complaints, if you give each team 15 mins setup time, you'll be finished by 8:00pm and you'll get complaints cos lots of players didn't get all their hardware working properly. So you gotta find th eright balance and aim to finish by 10:00pm. But with cs 1.6 everyone knows there are gonna be problems, and i'm not talking about the fps on the computers. But seriously steam has no lan capabilitys at the moments, plus the fact of new maps and mostly HLTV. 	Myers Saviour of UKT UKTerrorist 18:16 25/9/2003	are you willing to use 1.6 even if it causes problems you really really really don't want to go down that road :) a lan tournament is all about finding the right balance most of the time, if you give all the teams all the setup time they want, you'll be finished at 3:00am...and you'll be bombarded with complaints, if you give each team 15 mins setup time, you'll be finished by 8:00pm and you'll get complaints cos lots of players didn't get all their hardware working properly. So you gotta find th eright balance and aim to finish by 10:00pm. But with cs 1.6 everyone knows there are gonna be problems, and i'm not talking about the fps on the computers. But seriously steam has no lan capabilitys at the moments, plus the fact of new maps and mostly HLTV. HLTV in 1.6 doesn't work, as valve decided not to update it, rather to concentrate on the money aspect of there programs. GG WP VALVE. [ Comment: Report \| IP: Logged ]
