The CPL have released the cash prize list for the CPL Winter 2003 event. The total purse is a nice $100,000 and the first place team can expect to take home $30,000 for their troubles. Even though this is only half of what was given as the first place prize at the summer event you can still expect a decent European presence.
Meanwhile the 'new tournament on the block', CXG announced that sign ups for the online European qualifiers will go live next month. Countries such as Greece, Norway and Spain have had the details finalised already. As well as this CXG have announced a new sponsor for the ATI Cyber X Games which is due to take place in Orlando, Florida in January 2004. The sponsor comes in the form of Klipsch Audio Technologies who are a leading provider of speaker systems in the USA. Klipsch Audio Technologies have an impressive list of clients such as the Hard Rock Cafe chain and have added the CXG to that list. Mark Casavant, the vice president of multimedia for Klipsch had this to say:
We appreciate the Cyber X approach to broadening the appeal of gaming and Klipsch is looking forward to being part of the world's largest live gaming event
