Yeah HL2 wont immediately mean CS2 will it. How many people play HLDM? Hopefully the multiplayer will be good in deathmatch though. I get the feeling that most people will buy it, complete the single player and then spend another year or two whining about when CS2 is gonna come out. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

looks cool that, still wont play like cs tho :P I think they'd have to get it exactly like the current cs for it to overtake it. I mean think of how many mods that copy cs fail. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

The mods fail because they play too fast and quakelike or even slower than cs. They need the pace just a bit above what cs is, with familiar game dynamics and presentation, but less of the random bulls***tery we're used to. Once they get accepted as being the next big thing because of that and they have the playerbase, they can expand it a bit. But they can't take it too far away too far and change the cs style feel or they'd lose ppl back to counters***e [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

You would have thought a writer for halflife.org would get his grammar right, especially with him saying that he had plenty of offline time to write it.

However what is more inexcusable is the "Team Fortress Classic 2" he mentions, it's Team Fortress 2. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

Hate all these sites where you have to be a member just to look at that, it's such a pointless thing to have. Register completely fake details and are they any better off for it? Are they f***. Useless information hoarding c***s [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

It would just be stupid for the development of HL2 to completely exclude and ignore the whole CS phenomenon until such time as the game was released and an SDK came out or whatever, I reckon CS2 will be in development before HL2 hits the shelves and won't be that far off at all. Exactly what happened with QW:TF and TFC. TF had a huge following and then when tfc came out it ruined the entire game. A completely different feel and ppl just decided that TF was dead. I think this could happen to CS if its handled badly... [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

I have a bad feeling about this :/ . Big companys like sierra etc are starting to realise how important these 3rd party developers are (a guy in his bedroom started to make cs allmost 4 years ago), and yes they are making sure the SDK for hl2 is released before the game itself but.....whats to stop them producing the games after they are developed and releasing them as retail versions as offical expansions to hl2 itself. Remember there is allways som1 waiting to get rich at the expense of the poor hard working souls spending their dosh :( [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]
