Recent winners of the CPL qualifiers in Spain, A-Losers, have been caught up in an interesting scandal recently after reports suggest they successfully bribed Adrenalin to forfeit a WCG qualifying match. Over at xtragaming a translation was offered giving A-Losers' statement, here it is:
With our journey to the CPL qualifier in Bilbao it was clear to us from the start that we would have schedule difficulties with the German WCG qualification. Already registered for Bilbao we had inquired with the WCG whether we would be able to move our WCG matches - rejected quite rightfully by the WCG as they could not make an exception for one team.After the travel plan to Dallas had changed at short notice it was clear that we could not play against adrenalin as planned. This compelled us to look for other options. It is true that we asked adrenalin for a default win and that there were offers from our side, in order to convince adrenalin. These started as common training sessions, tactics exchange etc.. it's also true that that adrenalin finally came up with the idea of [unsure of the wording here a bit] financial recompensation of 200 to which our team agreed.
It must be noted that no money exchanged hands and will not do. Naturally discussion was only for a default win, this was a clear rule offence and a large mistake. Especially as money was suggested we went way too far over the line. We would like to apologise to the entire scene and above all to the WCG for our clear failure. It was the actions of a single cs team and orgas without involvement of the remaining clan management."

Ask any of CSC7 and you will get the same answer, we was offered £70 each if we would let 4K play CS-Marines. We refused and spoke to the organisers who told us they couldn't do anything (in terms of disqualification) but were disgusted to hear of it.
Do you REALLY think CSC7 would pay £350 to s4K over a game? We had always wanted to get as far as possible, even though we never believed in ourselves... we was always pleased to get in the top 3. [ Comment: Report | IP: Logged ]

as for dom being disgusted, he was fine about it when jonny asked if was ok to swap, aslong as csc7 were ok with it, so was he. it was only when other people commented on it that he changed his mind.
if i recall correctly £70 was mentioned cos of the speakers(?) you got for second place? it was a way of recompense for the prize you would have got if we had beaten you and you hadnt got to the final
and you werent offered anything for 4k to play marines, you were offered it for 4k to play csc7 so it would be a 4k marine final as it should have been following the tournament layout (as the only time names were drawn were when it looked like it was gonna be another 4k/marine player dominated event as per the previous lanarena (later admitted by dom when i complained that they tourney layout was changed)

2nd place got speakers if i remember rightly
jonny offered the money equivalent of second place as u were pretty much guaranteed to get thru your semi and would get second place - therefore as an incentive to play us, you would get second place prize for coming 3rd aswell as third place prize
anyway, blame jonny for that, i didnt think we'd lose to marine
as for beating 4k at a lanarena semi, cant remember that one as i wasnt there
